The Consilium Organisation

Overview of the Positions

As a result of the Wizard’s War the Orders of Guardians and Arrows are the most prominent. As a result of this overrepresentation; the Hierarch is a hard-line Guardian, voted in amongst the aftermath of the War and is keen to introduce the ban on Vulgar magic, as in London. Also, Nottingham does have an Intefector, called Mare. Mare was the executioner that killed the majority of the Nephandi in the War – it has never been seen without the Intefector mask and has never been known to speak, also its robes are so androgynous that even the gender of Mare is unknown.
Another position that defines the Consilium is the Warden; a position that is kind of an Arrow specific role of Sentinel. The Warden, a Tamer of Fire, is in charge of the security of the Consilium’s territory. Under her are the Sentinals, of which there are two, one (traditionally) from both Orders. The Warden is voted in by the Arrow part of the Consilium; though other Orders can recommend a candidate, the choice and candidate are Arrows only.
The Consilium has 5 Councillors, one for each path and are picked from the most advanced Magi from those paths – often chosen by the Duello Arcana. Each Councillor has beneath them a Provost, whose appointment is outside the choice of the Hierarch. Though most positions are held by Arrows and Guardians, recently one of the Free Councillors (a Mastigos) challenged the Mastigos seat and won. Unsurprisingly this has shifted the balance of power, and as much as the Hierarch dislikes this situation the Free Council have a legitimate voice within the Consilium.
